When I first met this beautiful young woman and her baby she was sitting on the floor in class with many other young mothers. Her baby was asleep in her lap and she was resting her study book gently on the baby's head. 39% of refugee girls from Darfur who attend school in the camps of Eastern Chad have babies, many as a result of rape. Still they love their children as this picture evidently shows and despite missing many years of school due to conflict they return to their primary education at the first opportunity to improve their lives and rewrite their futures.
